Food security in northern communities

Climate change is transforming ecosystems and therefore the food resources provided by natural environments. For the communities that depend on them, food security is at stake.

This is the research focus of Murray Humphries, Director of the Centre for Indigenous Peoples' Nutrition and Environment (CINE), Professor in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University and co-principal investigator of the WECLIFS project.

Joint INQ-SN call for projects

Institut nordique du Québec (INQ) and the Sentinel North (SN) research strategy are joining forces to launch a third call to INQ members for research projects to enhance Quebec's knowledge of the North and the Arctic.

New: the project proposals will be submitted in two stages. Research teams interested in submitting a project must send a notice of intent (NOI) to INQ by November 7. All NOIs received will be evaluated and the teams that are invited to submit a full application will be eligible for up to $10,000 to put together their application.

INQ Retreat for Northern Researchers 2022

INQ affiliated researchers, it is time to register for the INQ Northern Retreat to be held on November 17 and 18.

This retreat aims to equip INQ affiliated professors, professionals and postdoctoral fellows for their northern research activities while offering a privileged opportunity for networking in a safe and friendly environment.

Don't wait too long to register as space is very limited.

The "Nordic Lexicon" is a public communication project aimed at broadening our general knowledge of northern regions. This second entry was proposed by Institut nordique du Québec and the INQ research chair on the Northern Sustainable development.

Job offer INQ/RIVE

INQ and Centre de recherche sur les interactions bassins versants - écosystèmes aquatiques (RIVE) are seeking a Research Officer.

The main objective of the position will be to support and promote northern research within the RIVE and INQ.

2022 Sentinel North Scientific Meeting

Everyone is invited to the Sentinel North Scientific Meeting which will be held from October 25 to 27 at the Quebec City Convention Centre.
