CIERA's overall mission is to conduct research in collaboration with Indigenous communities and other universities, from a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and global perspective, ensuring that such research promotes the full participation of Indigenous people in the social, economic and political life of civil society. Since its creation, CIERA has considerably broadened the scope of its research, which no longer focuses solely on Indigenous issues in Quebec and Canada, but also elsewhere in the world.
